Meryl Russo founded One Warm Scarf in 2017.
"Our mission would not succeed without those who selflessly give of their time. Dedicated volunteers knit and crochet warm scarves for those experiencing homelessness, which they deliver to our drop-off site. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization!

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to collect thousands of scarves. Some of the organizations we’ve partnered with include Allentown Rescue Mission, Saint John’s Hospice, Bethesda Project, Philly Place (formerly Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission), and Project HOME. Outreach teams at Project HOME deliver scarves directly to those living on the streets.
In 2022, One Warm Scarf expanded its mission to include new men’s socks, t-shirts and underwear, items that cannot traditionally be donated like coats and clothing.

One Warm Scarf generally collects items September through April. However, we gratefully accept donations year round. If you don’t knit or crochet, you can still help by donating new or gently-used scarves, and sharing our mission with friends, relatives and neighbors!"
